TRICYCLE 2021
A couple of 20 year old SF-raised baristas, working their way through college during a global pandemic.
A growing list of ideas, a tempting craigslist listing, and a bit of naivety.
Next thing we knew, we had an eleven foot long electric coffee tricycle, a gas powered espresso machine from 1963, and a huge blind spot for what came next.
MOBILE BAR 2021-2024
A rude awakening, a desire to be mobile, and a new list of ideas.
A vintage liquor cabinet, three new wheels, some amateur woodworking skills, and a tightly packed Prius.
The mobile bar gave way to farmers markets, weekend pop-ups, and all kinds of events.
LUCINDA'S 2022-2026
An inviting corner, a chance to stay in one spot, free pallets in a parking lot, and slightly more woodworking skills than before. Just enough to build a sturdy counter and some shelves.
What started three days a week, with a few regulars and a basic menu, slowly grew into five — new and old customers, a longer menu, and our first hires.
Then seven: daily lines of friends and neighbors, a team of seven, seasonal specials, and a growing brand.

An empty storefront right under our noses, just a block from Lucinda's.
A vision for the future: a community space, a continuation of everything we already built.
A tight timeline, an eager team, and a full buildout. Inspections, re-inspections, and finally: approval.
Then the doors opened: friends, family, regulars — an overwhelming sense of community.
